Children and Adolescents

I help children and adolescents navigate life’s challenges in a safe, compassionate environment tailored to their age and experience. Many young people struggle with issues such as anxiety, depression, attention or behavior concerns, peer or family conflict, adjustment to change (like adoption or blended families), grief, self‑esteem or identity questions, and difficulties at school or with friends.

When you bring your child or teen to work with me, we’ll start by building trust and understanding so they feel heard and valued. I integrate evidence‑based approaches such as cognitive‑behavioral therapy (CBT) to help them identify and shift unhelpful thoughts, DBT skills to build emotional regulation and coping tools, trauma‑sensitive practices to address past hurts, and family‑involved work to improve communication and support among caregivers and youth. Together, we’ll define clear, realistic goals (such as managing worry, improving sleep and focus, reducing conflict, or building confidence), and I’ll partner with you, as the parent or caregiver, to reinforce progress at home.

Choosing to seek help now means your child doesn’t have to face these struggles alone, and the patterns don’t have to become “just who they are.” With timely, thoughtful support, we can foster better relationships, stronger self‑understanding, and more resilience for the years ahead.
